Winter Mood Boosters

Some say it is the winter that never was.

While we have not had very much snow in Southern Ontario, it has been very dark and gloomy. However, the past few days we have been blessed with some sunshine and I couldn't be happier.

I am a total believer in light therapy. I can instantly feel my mood boost when the sun hits my face.

Looking for some other ways to lift your spirits? Give one or all of these a try!

Feel good food. Try not to drown your sorrows in oodles of comfort food. It is okay once in a while, but your best bet is to stick with fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and healthy fats.

Stay germ-free. This is much easier said than done, but you will feel better if you can keep winter illnesses at bay. Echinacea, vitamin C and oil of oregano are some options you can try.

A little more conversation. Social interaction is a great mood booster. Schedule a lunch date with your friends or perhaps a night on the town with your partner.

Move it, move it. You knew this one was coming. Exercising helps release endorphins, which make you feel just plain good.

How do you boost your mood?

Stay Healthy,
Tracy
