Exercise Review: Turbo Fire Upper 20 & Lower 20

I have to tell you that I have been loving these Turbo Fire workouts! It is wonderful to be mixing up my regular routine.

I think what I am enjoying the most is the variety.  If I am short on time, I can do HIIT 25.  If I have more time, I can combine workouts or go for Fire 45.

Today, I am going to give you a double whammy:  a review of 2 sculpting workouts. Lets get it started!

Healthy Gluten Free Sesame Butter Bars Makeover

Last week, I decided to use my Magic Bullet to make some sesame butter.

It was an epic fail.  I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of it.

It was not smooth or creamy, rather clumpy and grainy.  Am I doing something wrong?  If you have any great tips, I am all ears :)

However, all is not lost.  Instead of tossing it, I decided that I could use it in a recipe.  I scoured the Internet and came across these babies:  Chick Pea Flour Cookies.  A perfect vehicle for my botched butter.

Hello Monday.  How did you get here so fast?

I had a great weekend, which included tinkering with a new recipe.  Here's a sneak peak:

My 3 Favourite Social Media Blogs

Many other bloggers out there feature some of their favourite things every Friday.

I have been doing it the past few Fridays without even realizing it so I am just going to keep on spreading the love. :)

Today, I am going to share some fabulous social media blogs that will help you build your brand (blog, food, fitness or otherwise).

Indoor Cycling 101

I am certified to teach spinning (AKA indoor cycling, power pacing), but haven't taught a class in ages. When a good friend of mine asked me to sub her classes next month while she is away, I jumped at the chance.

It was actually this bike, but you get the idea :)

Hope you had a fantastic weekend, friends! I know I did :)

I had a photo shoot on Friday with the fabulous Christine @ C. Duncan's Photography.  I can't believe she shot over 400 pics!  So looking forward to seeing and sharing them.

I also spent some time here.

Today, I wanted to showcase a few bloggers who not only post about health and nutrition, but regularly feature fitness advice and workout plans.

It was really tough to narrow this one down, but here are just a few of my favourites.

Exercise Review: P90X, X Stretch

In light of my self-proclaimed work in week and yesterday's post on the importance of stretching, I thought I would put Turbo Fire on the back burner (pun intended) this week and try something new.

Importance of Stretching, Part 1

I am having a work in kind of week.

My body is telling me that it wants to move, but in a low-impact kind of way.

It is not feeling the weight training this week, but wants yoga, pilates and stretching.  I am listening.

Healthy Vanilla Chai Rice Pudding Makeover

I was over at Love Veggies and Yoga the other day and Averie was talking about some delicious and easy rice pudding she had made.

Hmmm, rice pudding?  It has been a really long time since I have made it and I was definitely up for a makeover challenge.

While her version looked super yummy, I am on week two of the detox and have to nix the dairy and sugar, so I decided to give it my own healthy twist.

I have also just discovered my strong liking (I can't commit to love just yet) for chai tea.  I thought it would be fantastic if I could recreate those spicy flavours in this recipe.

Mission accomplished.  This pudding is creamy and satisfying with just a little kick from the spices.  All the things I am looking for in a comfort food.

My 3 Favourite Food Blogs

I don't think we give enough props to each other in the blogging community.

From coming up with fantastic topics and engaging with readers to taking millions of pictures and finding the perfect ones to post, blogging takes a lot of time, talent and energy.

I have already shared with you three of my favourite healthy living blogs and today I would like to highlight three blogs whose primary focus is on food.

Exercise Review: Turbo Fire, HIIT 25 and Abs 10

It is going to be ridiculously hot today, like 34 C (that is about 93 F for my American friends) and it seems like a perfect time to bring back Work In Wednesday.

But before I enjoy some "me" time, I wanted to share my experience with my next Turbo Fire workout.

Building Your Fitness Business: Getting Out There

In How To Build Your Fitness Business, Part 1, I talked about some of the things you can do to help build your fitness brand.

Getting out in the community and networking are most definitely on the top of that list.  That is exactly what I did this past weekend.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I spent last Saturday morning at this event

Strawberry Banana Cake Bars

You may remember I picked up some dried chickpeas and made some lovely besan bread.

Well, I still have a ton of them left and was looking for a fantastic recipe to make with them.  I came across the lovely Leanne @ Healthful Pursuit and she had created these tasty looking Blueberry Banana Cake Bars.

Jackpot!

Exercise Review: Turbo Fire, Fire 45

Before I get to the review, I realized that I forgot to share something with you.

Our new car!  I love it, it's a Honda Fit (very appropriate, don't you think?) and it is as cute as a button.  Great on gas too :)

Resolutions Rebooted: Goal Obsession?

It is the first of the month, my bloggie friends, and that means it is time to reboot our New Years Resolutions!

Originally, I was going to recap some of my goals and let you know where I was at, but we had a very interesting discussion last night about goals on Fitblog Chats and I have decided to shift my focus.

I noticed that many people were talking about meticulously documenting their food and fitness goals and it got me thinking:
