Building Your Fitness Business: Getting Out There

In How To Build Your Fitness Business, Part 1, I talked about some of the things you can do to help build your fitness brand.

Getting out in the community and networking are most definitely on the top of that list.  That is exactly what I did this past weekend.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I spent last Saturday morning at this event

This was my very first time doing an event like this in Toronto and I have to say, it was a great experience.

I met some new friends.

Gave away an awesome prize.

And got to talk to people about what I am passionate about:
Health and Fitness!

Are you thinking about featuring your business at an event?

Here are a few tips:

Talk to people.  This may seem obvious, but you would be surprised how many vendors just stood there and watched people walk by.  Don't be afraid to ask them if they have heard about your business or if they would be interested in trying your product.

Have professionally printed material.  This could be as simple as your business card or a flyer.  You could also provide coupons for your products or swag such as pens or t-shirt with your logo.

Give away a prize.  This is a great way to draw people to your table (who doesn't like winning free stuff), but it is also a way to get their contact information so you can follow up with them after the show.

This does not mean you should harass them with email (no one likes spam), but you can thank them for visiting your table and invite them to try your product or services.

Have fun.  Be yourself and be passionate.  People will come to you.

Have you ever done an event to promote your brand?

Stay Healthy,
Tracy
