5 Reasons Why You Should Start a Blog

I know what you are thinking.

"Who really cares what I have to say about ___________ (food, fashion, fitness, etc.), I am not an expert?"

"Why would anyone read my ______________(sports, recipes, mommy etc.) blog when there are so many others out there just like it."

"What if no one ever visits or comments?"

I hear you loud and clear. Blogging can be intimidating and downright scary.

In fact, there are many good reasons not to blog (unable to commit, not interested in blogging, don't want to invest the time and the list goes on).

You will notice that the reasons above are not on the list.  People do care what others have to say and they will read your blog.  There are 1000's of bloggers out there and you could be one of them.

You just need a little patience, some great ideas and few hours a week.

Here are 5 reasons why you should start a blog:

You are passionate about a subject and want to share it.  Do you love to create new recipes?  How about researching the latest exercise trends?  Or maybe you have a passion for fashion? You have something to say and a blog is a great place to give yourself a voice.

To genuinely help and educate. Perhaps you have had an amazing experience as a single mom and want to help others in the same boat.  Maybe you are a nutritionist and want to teach readers about healthy eating through great recipes and tips. You truly want to help people.

To connect to like-minded people.  Since I started blogging almost 6 years ago I have made some amazing connection, in person and online.  You will be surprised how welcoming and supportive the blogging community can be.

To promote your business or brand.  I have talked about this before (here and here), but it definitely worth mentioning.  Blogging is a great way to connect with your clients on a personal level.

Because it is fun! This is key.  Many of the most popular bloggers out there starting writing just for fun.  My belief is that if you blog because you love it, you will always be successful.

Why did you start your blog?

Stay Healthy,
Tracy
