Worth Repeating: 6 Ways to Love the Skin You're In

When it is hot outside and you find yourself wearing less and less, do you scrutinize every body part before you leave the house?

This is something that I posted just over 5 years ago and it is definitely worth repeating today.  It sparked some great discussion and a series of post on loving ourselves.

Recipe Makeover: Oatmeal Butterscotch Bars

It has been a few weeks since I was able to give any recipes a "Tracy twist" and I was so happy to get back in the kitchen again.

Remember those butterscotch chips I told you about?  Well, I finally found a home for them!

Yesterday sure didn’t feel like a work-in day

I was working frantically to prepare for the Lakeshore Mardi Gras this weekend.

Stop by if you are in the Toronto area and say 'hi'!

Strawberry Banana Cake Bars

You may remember I picked up some dried chickpeas and made some lovely besan bread.

Well, I still have a ton of them left and was looking for a fantastic recipe to make with them.  I came across the lovely Leanne @ Healthful Pursuit and she had created these tasty looking Blueberry Banana Cake Bars.

Jackpot!

The Hormone Diet Detox

It is downright hot today and after a weeks and weeks of rain, it is a very welcome change :)

With all my excitement about the #Fitblog Planks Challenge, I totally forgot to mention that I started a detox.

You may remember that the doctor advised me to follow this book (which is fantastic, expect a full review next week).

Passport to Prana: Mystic Pointe Yoga

It is so nice to be feeling better.  Sorry for the late post, but I am playing catch up today.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.  It's funny, because I said to myself at the beginning of the week that I was going keep my workouts gentle.  My mind already knew that my body needed rest and on Tuesday, my body spoke loud a clear.

Now, for the post I was going to share yesterday.  Remember when I got this?

Healthy Apricot Loaf Makeover and A Sick Day

I had a long list of things I was going to accomplish today. Tackling the laundry, working on some posters for this sale, writing a few articles and the list goes on.

But I woke up today feeling sick.  Achy, tired, hot, just plain yucky.  My first instinct was to feel guilt (like many of us) about the things I wouldn't be able to do today.

The Benefits of Massage and a Quick Announcement

Sorry for the late post today, but I had a massage and it was glorious.

It has been a very long time since I had one and my body was very thankful :)

Not me, but a picture from my favourite book :)

Work-in Week

The last few weeks have been busy, happy and exhausting.

Starting a business is very exciting, but it quite a task.  You don't quite realize how much there is to do between research, promotion and prepping until you are knee deep in it.

Don't get me wrong, I am beyond thrilled about this new opportunity, but I am finding myself a little stressed on this Monday morning.

3 Reasons Why You and I Are Fabulous

Every week, I participate in #fitblog chat on Twitter.  At the end of the discussion, we all gets the chance to brag about something we did this week that made us proud.

This is my favourite part of the chat.  It is so great to hear all of the fantastic accomplishments of my cyber friends.

Without hesitation, everyone tweets about recent weight loss, running that extra mile or completing a project at work.

Funny how we have pride in the things we have done, yet we don't feel the same way about our bodies or our minds?

Being body proud isn't about vanity, it is about loving yourself and being happy with the skin you are in.  Don't be afraid to love who you are, what you look like and the qualities you possess.

I'll start.

I am fabulous just the way I am because...

My laugh is infectious.  It is hearty, distinct and can be heard from across a crowded room.

My back is strong.  Through  running and strength training, I love how my back is becoming more defined and toned.

I have a baby face.  My cousin's daughter thought I was in my early 20's.  This truly made my day.  For the record, I am not in my early 20's :)

Now it's your turn.

Write down 3 reasons why your are fabulous just the way you are!

Stay Healthy,
Tracy

Food, Friends and Fun!

After being sick for over a week, I was more than happy to go to a friends house for a much needed girls night.

We ate, laughed, watch movies and gabbed.  You know, girls stuff.

When you are feeling sick, stressed, or depressed, it is often tempting to isolate yourself from the rest of the world.  You want to be miserable and misery doesn't always love company.

However, spending time with friends and family can be just the medicine you need to raise your spirits and help the mind and body mend.

It also helps when dessert looks like this :)

What do you do when you are feeling down to help you feel better?

Stay Healthy,
Tracy
