How to Build Your Fitness Business, Part 1

As many of you know, I have created my own opportunity by starting my own fitness business.

Going out on your own is always tough and getting a new business off the ground requires planning and persistence.

Everyday I am learning more and more about what works, what doesn't and what changes I need to make to run a successful business.

For my other fellow entrepreneurs (fitness, health or otherwise), I thought I would share a few strategies that can be effective.

Having a Professional Website
When people are looking for a product or service, they don't pick up the Yellow Pages, they Google it.  It is so important to have a website where people can learn all about you, what you have to offer and where to find you.

Consider hiring a graphic designer to help you put together a clean and professional looking site.  This will be money well spent.

Networking
Hands down, this is the number one way for your business to grow. You have to get out there and build relationships with like-minded individuals and businesses.   People connect with people.  Period.

Consider joining a networking group or attend events where you will have the chance to meet other business owners.

Get Out in the Community
You also need your potential customers to see you and learn about what you have to offer. Look around in your area to see if there are any opportunities for you talk about health and fitness (or your related field) for free.  Yes, for free.

Offering a free workshop is a great way to meet people.  For an hour or so of your time, you have the potential gain many new clients and build relationships.

Stay tuned for Part 2 and learn about what doesn't work!

Do you have your own business?  What marketing/advertising strategies do you use to promote your brand?

Stay Healthy,
Tracy
